The UT College of Veterinary Medicine is part of the reason Knoxville was named Dog Fancy Magazine’s DogTown USA for the best city for dogs in the Southeast. The college is one of only 28 veterinary schools in the country and offers unique programs such as physical rehabilitation and therapy for dogs and horses, medical and radiation oncology, veterinary social work and avian, wildlife and exotic zoological medicine. A committee, including the college and city and county officials, is helping Knoxville get the word out about its pet-friendly activities, laws and accommodations.
