Gifts to the Campaign for Tennessee stood at about $1.1 billion late last year—surpassing the $1-billion campaign goal. But the need continues, so the campaign continues, as well.
“With decreased state and federal funding, private gifts are more important now than ever,” says Scott Rabenold, UT acting vice-president for development and alumni affairs.
Private gifts continue to be needed to benefit both students and faculty by providing scholarship opportunities, faculty support, and operational support, Rabenold said. The 6-year campaign is scheduled to conclude December 31, 2011.
