To celebrate its 75th anniversary, MTAS held three celebrations across the state during 2024. Customers, employees and retirees gathered at events in Jackson, Nashville and Knoxville to celebrate the agency that provides training and technical consulting to Tennessee’s 345 cities.
CIS Launches Board Excellence Certification
It’s no secret that an organization must have strong leadership to achieve excellence. Leadership expert John C. Maxwell says, “A leader is one that knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.” The highest level of leadership in many organizations is the board of directors, yet there are very few professional development opportunities designed specifically for boards.
Recognizing this need, the UT Center for Industrial Services developed a Board Excellence Certification and Professional Development Program. These programs model a commitment to excellence and send a strong message to the leadership, workforce, customers and stakeholders of any organization.
Language Center Offers Training for Metro Nashville Public School Teachers
The Tennessee Language Center created a Spanish for Educators level-two course for Metro Nashville school teachers who have completed level one and want to continue to study Spanish.
The course helps the teachers increase their connection with English as a Second Language Spanish-speaking students and their families.
