Patel made it through the Showcase Showdown and won more than $32,000 in cash and prizes. Former UT First Ladies Pat Johnson and Carolyn Boling were presented with the 2014 Brenda G. Lawson Legacy of Leadership Award and the Joe Johnson Lifetime Service Award during the Alliance of Women Philanthropists Symposium in February. During the UT College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual conference in Knoxville, class reunion celebrations were hosted for the Classes of 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009. Each class generously supports the college, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Close to 150 women attended the Alliance of Women Philanthropists Symposium, which featured UT women leaders in business, science and entrepreneurship, including guest speaker and UT Knoxville alumna Carol Aebersold, who is the co-author of The Elf on the Shelf.
