ELI Kicks off with Orientation Session

The Naifeh Center for Effective Leadership held an orientation session for the fifth cohort of the Executive Leadership Institute. ELI, formerly organized by the UT System, brings together 24 executives from across the UT System to learn about leadership and to grow as leaders. During the year-long session, cohort members visit each of the campuses to expand their enterprise perspective of the system. ELI operates on a cohort basis. Candidates must first be nominated by their campus leadership to apply for the institute.

New Municipal Officials Learn the Ins and Outs of City Government

The Municipal Technical Advisory Service had 75 newly elected municipal officials enrolled in its Elected Officials Academy at the beginning of 2024. Municipal Foundations is the first training session which familiarizes the elected officials with the foundational aspects of municipal governance. This session was held virtually for the officials who have said having the class online is much easier for them to fit into their schedules.

TLC Translates Materials for Country Music Hall of Fame

When the Country Music Hall of Fame began running a promotion allowing residents of Davidson and surrounding counties in Middle Tennessee to pay what they want instead of a set fee to visit the museum in January, leadership there wanted to reach as many people as possible. The hall of fame reached out to the Tennessee Language Center to translate the flyer and other promotional materials into Spanish and Arabic. Translating these materials into languages (other than English) most spoken in Middle Tennessee makes this discount accessible to a larger percentage of the population. The center also has translated display materials for the Country Music Hall of Fame in the past, as the museum is committed to being accessible.
