UTAA President Betsy Brasher Melby (Martin ’98, ’03) spoke at UTHSC’s December commencement and welcomed 140 graduates into the UT Alumni Association. Through the Alliance of Women Philanthropists Giving Circle grants program, UT Martin’s Jamaica Me Happy steel drum band received $12,500 to purchase traditional Trinidadian steel drums. Retired WNBA player and former Lady Vol Tamika Catchings (Knoxville ’00) made a $50,000 gift during a scholarship benefit dinner. Catchings is joined by UTAA Distinguished Service Professor Ashley Harkrider, who also is chair of the UTHSC Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology.
