HSC Marks Centennial

HSC Marks Centennial

Special activities and items will mark the centennial of the UT Health Science Center this year: a lecture series, a website, a coffee-table book, a commemorative gala in Memphis on Friday, September 16, 2011, and a 5K run–walk in the Bluff City on Sunday, September 18, 2011.

The centennial book, The Legacy The Future: A Centennial Portrait of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, is available in the UTHSC Bookstore (930 Madison Avenue, Plaza Level, Memphis) and can also be purchased through the bookstore website, www.uthsc.bncollege.com. The beautifully photographed oversized coffee-table book is priced at $60, but the advance discount price is $50, plus applicable taxes and shipping ($6.95 for the first book, $1.95 for each additional book shipped to the same address).

The first 1,000 orders will include a free book, The University of Tennessee, Memphis, 75th Anniversary—Medical Accomplishments, by James E. Hamner. This book is filled with stories and facts about the campus. Order early to get your free copy.

Be part of the centennial celebration by contributing historical photos, personal reflections, or artifacts you may have from your time at UTHSC for inclusion on the website or in campus displays.
