Tom Blanchard, left, UT Martin professor of biology, works with biology students Mason Farrell, center, and Jake Hollows, right, in a creek near the UT Martin campus. Blanchard and his team have been investigating the effects of stream restoration on fish biodiversity and physical features for six years. As part of this research, Farrell and Hollows are focusing on the bluegill sunfish at Crooked Creek in Carroll County and studying its growth, condition and diet.
